Beverly Muldrow | For Judge of The Court of Common Pleas

Agenda

Topics

- Preserving our Families

The family is the foundation of the individual. Strong, constructive families help foster the growth of strong, constructive individuals in our society. Dysfunctional family environments can have negative effects not only on the individual, but our communities as well.  Therefore, I firmly believe in supporting and maintaining families to be positive influences for our young people.  I work towards this goal daily as I represent individuals in dependency matters in Family Court.

- Protecting our Children

Too many of our children are in institutions where they are not given the proper nutriment and encouragement to excel in school. There are too many children victimized in our city.  For three-and-a-half years while working as an assistant district attorney, I prosecuted numerous child sexual assault cases with a 98-percent conviction rate. Today, I continue my work for the protection of children in family court.

- Safeguarding our Environment

During my time at the United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA), I handled cases relating to the Clean Air Act and Superfund. In addition, I was selected by EPA headquarters to train EPA attorneys in litigation and negotiation skills.  Becoming an advocate and speaker for Environmental Justice, I advise those communities with greater exposure to environmental risk.  Many of the children in these communities suffer from asthma and other environmental-related conditions. Collectively, we need to work harder to safeguard our environment and communities.
