Minister Kenyon E. McAfee was born August 11th, 1958 in Washington, DC, to the proud parents of the late Mr. Joseph S. McAfee, Sr., and Mrs. Julia Lee McAfee with his younger sister, Valerie L. (McAfee) Hardy. He is the proud Father of Kenyon E. McAfee the Second, who he loves very much. Minister McAfee was 6 years of age when baptized at Metropolitan Baptist Church, Washington DC, under the Pastorate of the late Pastor E.C. Smith.
As a graduate of Theodore Roosevelt Sr. High School in Washington, D.C., he attended the University of the District of Columbia, while working fulltime for the Association of American Railroads. There he worked for 17 years as a data-entry operator, scheduling clerk, Sr. Computer operator and finally Senior Programmer Analysis. In December of 1986, he received an Associates of Arts degree in Computer Science Technology.
In 1991, he enlisted in the DC Army National Guard to become a citizen soldier as an Army Photo-Journalist where he was sent on duty to Panama, Central America, Hawaii, USA and Europe. His experience in Europe would prove to be a turning point in his walk with Christ. He promised God that if he was blessed to complete his mission safely in Bosnia, he would join a church upon his return home. True to his word, he joined Mount Jezreel Baptist Church and rededicated his life to Christ in 1996 under the Pastorate of the late Rev. Dr. Harold E. Trammell. While at Mount Jezreel he served the Senior Usher’s Ministry as the Reporter, Assistant Junior Supervisor and Business Manager. He also served the Senior Usher’s, Men’s, Computer and Prison Ministries along with the Men’s Choir, Church Anniversary Committee, and within the Interdenominational Church Ushers Association.
Completing his season of service at Mount Jezreel Baptist Church, he later joined Victory Fellowship Church under the Pastorate of Rev. Paul Smith and Word of Prayer Cultural Center under the Pastorate of Rev. Dr. Joseph E. Gray, Jr. While serving both churches, he was a Deacon in Training, along with helping to assist with the video and tape ministry.
In 2005, God sent him to visit Kingdom Success Ministries in Bowie, Maryland. In 2006, his future Pastor, Rev. Michael Johnson preached one of the seven last words during a Good Friday Service at Faith Fellowship Ministries International in Washington, DC. During this service, the Lord called Minister Kenyon to preach the Gospel of Jesus Christ. After notifying his future Pastor about this call, the Pastor instructed him to pray and fast for 21 days to seek God’s will concerning his call to preach.
God’s answer was clear and upon that 21st Day, he announced to the church that he was called to join Kingdom Success Ministries and to preach and teach God’s word. Upon his Pastor’s instruction he enrolled in classes at (FFMI) Faith Fellowship Ministries International School for Christian Living. He also began his training to become a Minister at KSM. Since his enrollment at FFMI, he has become a straight A Biblical Student. On December 16th 2007, Minister Kenyon E. McAfee preached his initial sermon and became a Licensed Minister of Kingdom Success Ministries and an Associate Minister of Faith Fellowship Ministries International.
Finally, Minister Kenyon E. McAfee stands on the following scriptures from Genesis 1:1 and John 1:1, “In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth” and “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.”
